Default 99 long bed to short bed conversion...

Hey guys. I have been contemplating this for awhile now, and it is time to get started. I will be taking my rclb and making it a short bed. You say why don't you go buy one? I tried, but I can't get out of this truck without losing a lot of money. So it will be modified!

my email is treyhughes@me.com I ask you to send me any pictures you have of your RCSB frame or just a pic with the bed off the truck, I plan to be very thorough and take many pictures!

I don't know if the 1500 frame is the same as my 2500 frame but I 4 linked the truck and the links meet the frame as it raises behind the cab. At ride height my links are level and I am on air ride. I will get some close pictures of what I did. I just measured everything 4 times and made sure it was straight. The truck has been over 100 MPH on my 4 link built on a flat concreate floor. I also put it on the alignment machine at work and my thrust angle(dog tracking) was 0*

Where do you live?

I live in Memphis, TN. From what I've found in studying and comparing my frame to others, it should be the same as the 2500. I can't decide if I am going to 4-link or not. I would appreciate those pictures a lot! Mine will be built in a shop with a good level floor also.

The only issue I see with my set up is that the bags are offset from the link. They are off the shelf from suicidedoors.com. I only had about 500 miles on the truck before pulling it in for the 408 stroker where it has sat for 3 years.

There are plenty of options to over come the offset air bag either with bags or coil overs. The beauty of this custom set up is that you could use stock tank and everything.

so did you build the truck for dragging frame or drag racing. If you built it for drag racing you have no clue on how a 4link works.... Having the bars completely parellel will my your instant center completely retard and useless....

for example, my 4link plan on my truck is below

If you are willing to drive to 35960, I have a 2000 model frame I would sell. Make me an offer.
