Well not many updates today. Took the front grill off to plan the intercooler mounting and found why the ambient temp isn't showing on the dash ... the sending unit is missing lol
Downpipe routed Thinking of putting a V-Band clamp just as it passes the manifold ... took the pipe out a couple times while fabricating and it was a pain in the *** to pull it out the top due to the length and a shorter pipe would make it a breeze to take off quickly for plug changes/etc.
Crossover completed
starting on the wastegate routing
End of 3rd build day
just ordered the wastegate discharge flange and clamp so that I can route it into the downpipe and also ordered the cut to length plug wires with 90-90 ends. Need to get the oil supply/return routing lengths sorted out and go get the lines made ... then also start on the charge piping and mounting of the Intercooler ... Doesn't look like tomorrow is gonna be productive, but I'm gonna try to slip some time in.
Mounted intercooler today ... now coming up with a plan to either use a bunch of couplings and straight pipe sections or as much hard piping and bends as possible
I ran mine in the same place and pre intercooler two 90s and 2 straight couplers but your turbo is mounted different. Post intercooler side one 90 coming out of intercooler a short straight section to a 45 to avoid the battery tray to another 45 to aim it in front of fans then 90 to throttle body. Its pretty simple and then cut a hole in the plastic next to the radiator for the pipe to pass through and done. You already got the hard side done the cold side is easy.
Thanks for the advice. Gonna have to visit the supplier tomorrow to see what they have in terms of silicone couplers. If I can get a 3" 90° bend with long legs, it'll make my job much easier.
I've been thinking of putting in a second battery in the future (behind driver headlight) so not sure if I should accommodate for that now or cross that bridge when I get there.
Started routing the discharge side of the Intercooler first as that's the harder of the two sides. Also placed the battery in the spare tray while routing the tubing to make sure I clear the battery should I wanna add a second one in the future.
Need a 15" section of straight tubing and to mount the blowoff valve to finish up, then will take it all to the exhaust shop to get beads rolled.
