Well, if the guy hasn't already sold it, I might be getting a lq4 that has a pretty fresh bottom end with ls2 pistons and rods, BTR cam, and 243 heads for the truck. I wasn't planning on doing this yet, but he is letting it go for a really good price. If I get it, I'll likely swap the stage 4 BTR NA cam out for something a little smaller that will work better with a truck.

I'll update if the deal works out

Well, the motor deal fell through. The guy's coworker ended up buying it

Finally got around to doing a little more polishing on the truck last night. Got the passenger fender and door done. There are some scratches and a couple of water spots that were etched in there still left in them, but overall they are much improved.

She's looking better all the time man. Are you using a machine on the paint? (Don't remember reading about one).

I am using the Porter Cable 7424xp with 5" and 3" backing plates, depending on the area. I'm ready to get the whole thing done, but I'm just having to spread it out as I get time to do it. Slowly but surely, it's getting there.

Same machine that I have. Obviously gets the job done. I use a lot of Adams stuff too.

Yeah it does. I'd like to use a Rupes and a Flex polisher to compare to the PC, but for me it has done well so far.

I would like to try those polishers too. I've got a Flex pad sander that I've used for wood work for along time and it is a very well made machine. They have engineering skills, for sure.

The PC has done what I need it to do and I got a deal on it used from a guy who was stepping up. (Not sure what he got to replace it).

My guess is that if you were doing the polishing professionally you would probably want a more powerful machine but just doing my truck, time is cheap.
