The 243/799 heads already lower compression on the 4.8 and 5.3's due to larger combustion chambers. The 317's would lower compression even further due to even larger combustion chambers which would undoubtedly make a 4.8 or 5.3 a turd out of boost. I believe I did see one of the members on here run 317's on his turbo 5.3 but not sure if they are milled any or if they are stock.

53bowtie. Yes I knew of the chamber differences, but figured, lower comp= more boost, but as you stated, makes sense. too low of comp and it will be a dog without boost. I see the light. Didn't quite think of it that way.

So been driven the truck around since the s10 is engineless and my other truck has the big block and passes everything but a gas station
got some new to me wheels
