Looks like the kid that owned it got tired of the V6 and put a brick on the gas pedal dropped it in gear and let it go.

ok so lil update. i thought i bought a 4.8 ended up being a 5.3
but i came across an aluminum block 5.3 so probably end up using it instead and got my gt45 turbo for it. now i just need ls6 cam and springs

For the people that know about LS motors. what casting numbers are good heads to run and which ones should i avoid?

243's work great, and are fairly easy to come across.

Also 799s are the exact same as 243's. Just a different number for some reason. And I believe that's what aluminum 5.3s have.

I asked that same question before.

Apparently the nvms main downfall is that they don't like to be shifted fast and hard. There's lots of guys out there running power through them trouble free, but don't be Paul Walker and bent the fork. If your looking for a true performance trains, TR6060 is the way to go

sent 500rwhp thru one for a year and it never missed a shift. you can't shift them fast if you tried. stock clutch even looked good. not made for speed, but they can take some abuse.
