Default Never used Nitrous and looking to get into it

I have never driven anything with nitrous or ever messed with it in any way. I am thinking off adding a kit to my drag truck and wanted to ask you guys that use it what my best options are. I have an 02 scsb with a LQ9 with a 230/236 .591/.601 @110lsa, Patriot LS6 stage 2 64cc heads, Edelbrock LS-XT intake, 90mm TB and all the supporting items to go with. Last Saturday it ran a 12.21 @109 spinning of the line and still needing the tune tweaked. I would like to know what is the safest kit to use, what brand to use, and what size shot should I start with. What kind of tuning is involved? This motor was not built with nitrous in mind but if possible I would like to start messing with it. Sorry for all the newbie questions but I figure I need some time of adder to compete.

i personally love zex because of how safe it is it is very conservative with its jets which some people dont like but i love it, and you cant beat the simple installation.

I am not to worried about going to big at this time. This is the hold me over motor until I finish building my new motor which will be a 418 or 427.

so would this mean a 100 shot would indeed be less? what kit would you recommend?

I have patriot ls6 64cc stage 2 heads if it makes a difference, the truck is running right at 11 to 1 on the compression

A nitrous plate kit, window switch, fpss, TR6 plugs and tune adjustment will get you on your way to deep 11's with a low 12 NA time. If I could go back and do my kit over I would use the Nitrous outlet dual stage wet plate and split up the hit more. Your biggest problem once the kit is on will be traction.

I would say somewhere between 100 and 150 shot would really wake that truck up and put you deep in the 11's, tickling 10's......Also, are you running 26" or 28" slicks? I know some guys with Lightnings have gone to using the 30" slicks to get alittle taller sidewall and more bite off the line. Just a thought to help you hook. Also, since you're spinning off the line you'll want a window switch to keep the nitrous from hitting off the line. With an extra 100-150 you'd really be spinning out of the hole.

I have the Nitrous Outlet plate kit and it seems like a really nice kit. I also have one of Trick's progressive controllers which is really cool.
