Regency Sport Truck Story/Questions
#1
Hi All
I think that this is the correct forum for this. This is my first post, so please bear with me. My brother-in-law (Denny) passed away last Friday from cancer, he was 59. He had been bed-ridden for about 6 months before he passed so he wasn't able to drive his truck. Denny owned a 2006 John Moss (White/Orange) edition Regency Silverado with approximately 4,600 miles on it Needless to say, it is in immaculate condition, the tags (on the little plastic strings) are still on the seat, anyway, I'm trying to help my sister-in-law sell the truck. I went out last night to start the truck and the battery was dead. It was an Optima battery. Today, I took it to my friends garage where he checked it and he said that it was shot. He sold me a new Interstate battery at his cost and I've yet to install it because I'm now wondering if Regency installed Optima batteries during the conversion process? If so, then I want to keep the truck original for resale purchases. This truck is a 5-speed and has a hard bed cover on it. What do you think would be the best way to offer this for sale? Locally or on the internet? Since Regency has went out of business, does that make their trucks more or less valuable? Thank you for any help and/or advice. Denny was like the older brother I didn't have and I want to do this right for him.

X2 on the hard cover...I am thinking checkmate
-Welcome to the forum and sorry for your loss..Cancer is
....I think a nation wide market would be best for your truck..shipping is usually around $700-$1800 depending on where its going...I sold my Silv SS for $12k over KBB by listing it on ebay...Just have to find the one guy that "has to have it"

I just got back from installing the Interstate battery and it fired right up. Damn, it sounded good too!
My sister-in-law pulled all of the trucks paperwork while I was there.
The bed cover is made by a company called *******. It was purchased from a local truck specialty shop and the price was $1,540.00 three years ago.
I went to Google and looked up ******* truck covers and found an article with a link to the ******* page. I think that the cover on my brother-in-laws truck is the ******* Speedsturr Wing Tonneau Cover. It has a wing on it that is very close to the Regency wing that came on the truck and the cover was painted white. Thank you for all of your help and here's the link:

I agree with the opinion that you should post this national (ebay, or some other national site).Trust me-- there are a large group of folks who know what an RST is and they WANT ONE!!! BTW, I have a Truxedo tonneau cover (roll-up) that butts up the RST spoiler with no inteference. I did not want to remove it so I went to a local company that deals with aftermarket products for trucks. We went thru a few brands before we found one that worked. Good luck in selling the truck and I am deeply sorry for your loss. Welcome to the site!!!
