Default Newish lurker from Boise.

I swear I had an account on here before... Maybe not. lol.

Usually just lurk and read other peoples posts. But since I can't seem to find the answers to my questions by searching, I'll have to ask directly.

I've got an 07 Yukon XL Denali, just synthetic fluids, Taylor wires, NGK plugs, and a Blackbear tune for mods.

Also have an 04 ecsb truck, that I got for cheap because the truck has 254k miles, motor with broken timing chain, and wasn't treated nicely. Spent a little money putting a J/Y 100k mile motor with 1yr warranty in. New oil pump, ls2 timing set, water pump, plugs, gaskets, etc in for insurance.

I have a project in mind, involving a 99 6.0L, and a 73-91 crew cab... I'll post details and my actual question in an engine internals forum on here.

Welcome aboard!

I'd think with a broken timing chain some valves would also be ruined. The heads will definitely need to be pulled in order to check that. New heads may also be likely... if find it hard to believe with that many miles and a possible crunched valve that the valve guides are in good enough order to want to really put any money toward performance mods.

I was under the impression that our timing chains rarely break. Sounds unlucky man. Welcome to the forum.
