Hey forum. My name is Travis. Just took on a swap project and been cruising around searching for endless hours for information on this build and thought i would join due to all the great information and threads I have been favoriting.

the project:
2006 silverado 1500, 4.8L coming out

I recently picked up what I thought was suppose to be a lq9, but turns out its actually a ly6 with the 823 heads, also came with the 4l80e trans.

So I will be swapping in the ly6 and have a few questions.

Thank you all for the great forum and all the information

No problem, glad to see more local members. There's another member in salem. He's building a turbo RCSB. Here's a link to his thread.

Holy cow! Looks intense. This project in my initial post is for a good customer of mine. I have a 2009 zr1 that I like to mess with. He is a truck guy so our plan is to get a nice 450-500 on the motor, then he wants to put a Procharger street kit on it later this summer. Wants to run some 11's and still drive it to work.

Travis, plans for the truck sound awesome! I have a 95 chevy that I am doing a 5.3 swap in. Once it's up and running and I get a handle on tuning, I have a 2.3 Whipple waiting to go on. I'll keep the stock pulley on while I learn how to tune FI and then I'm thinking 12-14 lbs of boost. We'll see.
