NEW 2500HD Work Truck build

Purchased 2006 2500HD 6.0 with 100,000 miles. Truck was immaculate, from inside out. Zero rust, lifted, Brand new tires, Fresh Inspection. I installed a Kenwood Head unit and a 10" truck Sub with 800 Watt amp. Everything said and done 9,500 after taxes and transfer which in my opinion was a ******* steal.

That being said I will be building this truck for power/Pleasure due to the economic hardship haha. I am waiting for the Yank 3200 Stall converter which will be here the 23rd of February and shortly after all parts will be installed and tuned, which then I will have videos, and dyno sheets.

I decided to go with building a all motor for now enjoyable beast that will turn heads when they see a 3/4 ton with hopefully 550 crank hp but if I can achieve mid 400RWHP I will be happy.

PARTS LIST:

L92 Block/ LS3 Precision Race CNC Ported Heads
Upgraded GM Valves
.660 PRC/PAC dual spring kit with titanium retainers all milled to 229/236 Cam

Texas Speed 229/236, .629/.615, 111LSA, Three bolt core Cam

7.40 Hardened Chromoly Pushrods

LS6 Race billet single roller timing set, Z06 chain, 3 keyway sprocket, and 3 bolt cam

Forged Wiseco Pistons

LS6 Ported oil pump

ALL NEW SEALS AND GASKETS

YANK Pro 3200 Stall converter for 4L80E

Custom Performance 1 3/4" Long tube headers

3" Performance Y pipe

K&N Cold Air

Upgraded Trans cooler

Then Custom tune

Let me know what you guys think of the set up, I will eventually boost the truck in the future when i get rid of other projects and liquidate some equity i don't touch anymore. We are going for 500 maybe more crank HP, possibly 450-470 RWHP but we will see. I have seen it done, and with my tuner being a expert with LS based motors we have confidence in this reliable and powerful set up.

That motor should already have the stronger rods and the stock pistons can handle all the power you plan to put it through just so you know. Just in case you wanted to save money and not but those pistons.

Philadelphia?? I grew up in Phoenixville. Welcome to PT.net. Going to be an awesome work truck for sure! I'm a sucker for regular cab long bed 4x4's, good find!

Im in to see how this turns out, about to swap my cam to something very similar on a wider lsa... And am in process of building another 6.0 with a set of 0821 heads, when i had mine tuned (with a cam nowhere near optimized for the setup) i was at 345ish rwhp... No clue where i am at flywheel....

I would guess 420rwhp with that cam and supporting mods. I had a similar cam on my previous 6.0 w/ LS3 head setup. I'm really tempted to get that exact can with a 114 LSA for my 2008 Vortec Max.

Stock pistons will be fine NA. Hate to tell you but you are going to need a lot more than 400hp to make it fast.

I had that same setup on my 06 crew cab ss clone before i sold it but i had a 4k stall and 7/11 drop on 22/24 intros and i can say it lited them up anywhere from 35ish 40ish down it would just smoke the 24s like nothing it was a fun setup just never has a chance to put it on the dyno
