What's up y'all,

More than a few people on GMT400.com told me this is the place to go for GMT800 knowledge. I've spent years messing with GMT400 trucks but just replaced my last one with an '06 Intimidator Silverado SS, and looking forward to getting it fixed up and modified to my liking. It's in pretty good shape actually, other than some crash damage to the right rear; bought it from the salvage auction. 80K miles, runs and drives great, cold A/C, seats still nice, etc.

Just a quickie pic after installing some new headlights and signals the other day-

Richard

Thanks! If you saw the passenger rear you wouldn't say it was clean. It's crunched enough that they totalled an otherwise good truck. But it's a work in progress. I've got a pile of new OEM parts ready to go on - complete bedside, cladding, etc. just got to pick a body shop.

did it get into the box of the bed? if not, bedsides are cheap/easy.

Naw the box is good. Body shop where I work said the inner portion of the bedside is bad too, but there's no visible damage "inside" the box if that makes sense. However, the flat portion along the taillight and where the tailgate hinge is, pretty much destroyed. I'm sure someone could fix it, but to me it seems smarter to replace it. So I bought a GM complete inside/outside bedside.

Hey Richard,

I bought some OBS parts from you at your shop years ago. Met you from FSC.com. Hope everything's been going well for you.

Yep, things are cool, but I tell you I sure wish I hadn't shut that shop down! I miss the place. 2 year run isn't bad but I thought I was off to something else that didn't pan out, oh well, gotta try I guess!

It Wasn't Me, Some Other Guy did it! You have some explaining to do. Ha,ha,. Welcome! Nice looking SSS Intimidator! I recently learned about the GMT nomenclature. I drive a GMT800 that is badged as a GMC Sierra 1500 VHO 6.0L. I like the styling of the Silverado, but in my purchase year (2005) it and just about every other truck was more expensive. I am not a mechanic, but I am learning new knowledge whenever I visit this website.
