I have an 00 Silverado 5.3 that was blown I was giving an 08 Tahoe with a 5.3 totaled what would I need to change motor over

 

Plus I've looked all over the net and can't seem to find this swap

 

Must not have looked very hard

Very minimum, Lingenfelter converter box, knock extension, cam sensor extension, cable 4 bolt TB and cable bracket and retune.

Lots of nickel and dime things will add up for you, like injector adapters if you arent flex fuel, etc etc. Physically, motor fits without issue. The wiring and electronics are the problem. The converter box is ~250 used, and for that price you can get a used gen3 5.3.

If the 08 is DOD, you will need a delete kit.

Expect to spend 1000-1200 on getting it in there, IMO.

 

I must be looking in all the wrong sections that is why I came to this forum I read through some of the forums and I liked the answer people here seemed to know their stuff and that's why I went ahead and signed on also I have a donor Tahoe with all the wires and computer but I was hoping for someone to point me in the right direction to read up on it before I tackle the task, also what is the DOD
