New guy w/ VVT cam'd 6.2
New guy here from NC.
A couple of months ago i bought the wife a 13' yukon denali xl with 71k on it.
At 73k dod lifter took a crap and since i already had a tune appt lined up for it (because i was going to have dod shut off and i hate the stock 6L80 shifting) i went ahead replaced the valvetrain.
TSP stage 2 VVT truck cam- 212/218 600/600 112
PAC 1218's, ls7 lifters, ls9 head gasket, arp head bolts, comp cam limiter kit, TSP pushrods and ls2 chain and dampner. I built a homemade 4 inch fenderwell intake and threw on a 3.5 inch borla xr-1 and mightymouse catch can.
Ryan at RPM motorsports tuned it and what they say about vvt cams is true. Power all over the place, Torque down low, pulls hard over 3500rpm. Its getting about 13mpg in mixed driving. I plumbed in a real flex fuel sensor during the cam swap but haven't tuned it on E85 yet.
It feels like alot smaller truck now, more like my full bolt on TBSS.
Just need to install the tru-cool 40k and work on the trans shifting some more and hopefully it wont have anymore problems for a good long while.
