Default 5.3 w Cam/125 shot vs Camaro SS A6

I just got done tuning a buddies rcsb 5.3 that has a custom grind 218/222, lt's, ory, 3.73's, and a 125 shot. I figured I'd try him with my car and it is stock down to the paper filter with the exception of the trans tune. I havent bothered with the ecm until I do my resonator delete.

Went from 25 up to about 130 or so. He honked it off, vid starts right at the 3rd honk.

I was impressed with the truck, really held in good till 100 or so! I figure he'll run some high 12's with good traction on the juicy juice.

He is, I am trying to get him to get at least a circle d 278mm. I advised against a stock tb converter since he is spraying.

I figured he was on the stock converter. He would be pretty amazed at just what a good converter can do in that truck. A good converter can help lower 1/4th mile time up to a half second, especially with the mods he has.

I am sorry but i am not impressed with the truck
that truck should go 110-112mph on a 125 shot which would put him in front or on side your camaro
my friends bone stock 2010 1 ss auto with 200 miles went 13.0@108mph

I agree! It could easily run mid-low 12's with the right converter/tire combo.

From a roll, advantage car. Not to mention, I was in manual 1 and his kicked down, so I got an ever so slight move on him. As mentioned, he is on the stock converter which is killing it with the cam he has. I'd bet I can run 12.7's as is. This was the 2nd of 2 runs, the first was a complete botch, i rammed the limiter in 2nd gear which evened my pull I had, and he stayed right with me till about 120 after that.

Edit,

I am uploading the first run just for the sake of showing the difference. Once I layed on the rev limiter, he ran right with me.

The first run.
As I said, I f-ed up and hit the limiter, killed my pull and he almost made me pay for it. This run was from 40 and his didn't go down to first so we were both at the very bottom of 2nd gear at the start.

I have to agree with this guy ^^^

A cam 5.3 with a 125shot should be out in front of the camaro regardless of the stall in this instance.
Roll racing doesn't affect the converter as much as dig racing. Sure his shift extensions are **** but depending on his shift points, the bottle should make up for the shitty extensions.

All in all it was a good run and thats what counts

If my car is a mid 12 sec car, do you think the truck would outrun me from a roll? I don't. From a dig, he would probably fare better as long as traction was good. Maybe my car is just a ringer....lol

On a side note, his cam is on a 113 lsa, and he only wanted the shifts at 6200 rpm (scared of the 60e). I said it should pull nice up to 6500 or 6600, but that was his call. That may be costing him a lot too.
