Im wanting to do this to my stock rockers before i blow needle bearings everywhere and am wondering what you think of them, do they help quiet down the valvetrain? How long did it take to install?

 

Considering all of Comp's quality control problems as of late, I'd get the same kit that Harland Sharp has been offering for years before Comp found a cheaper way to make it and jump on the band wagon

I got comp trunions. easy as pie. comes with instructions. no issues in 800-900 miles.

 

got the same ones lol just hadnt had the chance to put hardly any miles on them but for the 200-300 miles they did see i had no issues

 

I put 219k miles on my stock rockers w/o one failure.
When I built the LS1, I didn't want to use the ones from my 5.3L, so I bought a set of stock rockers with 30 - 40k miles on them and have ran them even harder than before for the past 63k miles...until recently.
I recently had valvetrain failure...several broken valve springs, a beat-down pushrod, a stuck lifter and a few w/ flat spots on the lifter rollers from beating up the cam lobes.
100k+ mile rockers still look great.
I read everything I could find about the Comp and Harland upgrades over the last week and I decided to purchase a brand new set of GM stock rockers for my current build / re-build.
I also bought new rocker arm bolts to replace the ones I now have 282k+ miles on.
The set was just a lil' over $140 shipped.
Just a lil' food for thought...

There are shops doing the Comp rebuilds for $199, using your old rockers, if you decide to go that route and don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.
I read a thread about the Harland Sharps being flawed as well somewhere along the line but that they were making them good if sent in to be rebuilt.

Don't know if you saw my post but I did the comp trunion upgrade and they drilled the center hole wrong but they did give me a new one with no hasle. Do the harlands imo

 

Ill be getting some for mine soon also. Does it matter if the rockers have 150k+ miles on them? Like the tips where the push rod hits and and where it contacts the valve spring? I'm sure those can get excessive wear right?

 

Im wondering the same thing, gonna take a good look at them when i swap the bearings. my chatter is getting louder.....
