IMO wait for GM. I just bought an '08 Denali AWD and its damn quick. The aftermarket will be a lot better for it too in the long run. Which is probably GM's biggest advantage in the sport truck world. GM is starting to move the 6.2/6L80 combo into the other lines. You can already option out a 2wd Tahoe with the setup IIRC. The tundra is a stout truck for sure but I don't see the aftermarket reaching out to them near as much. Just for comparisons sake I'd love to throw a set of 4.10's in my truck to get rid of the 3.42's and see what it would run at the track. But I'd end up losing the 15-16 mpg I'm seeing now in the middle of the winter in Minnesota. I know guys are already getting the 2wd Denali's into the high 13's with just a tune, intake, and catback exhaust. These trucks will only get faster. Not to mention the Denali is just a better looking truck all around IMO.

i just started reading this thread and i used to work at toyota as a mechanic. The trucks are pretty quick, but they have their issues. I guess they are having issues with trannys right now, not shure exactly what but its still issues. I remember the tech next to me replacing a brand new trucks trans before it even left. In my opinion they are ugly, one of the salesman told me toyota wanted it to look like a fist coming down the road at you, whoopdy frickin doo. I think it looks like they didnt know what they were doing on the design board. id rather have a good looking truck that needs a little modding than a ugly brick of a truck thats a lil quicker. ill admit they are quick. oh yea the new dualee prototype is out too.

Toyota's top executives repeatedly have stated their concern that Toyota is growing too quickly to keep quality at past high levels.

Well, that explains it all...I knew there was NO way that a bone stock n/a tundra was clicking off those numbers in the 1/8th.
