Default top speed governor

Does anyone know where the top speed limiter on a 2002 chevy silverado is, and also how to take it off. I want to speed up my truck without doing anything too major.

I would think it be electronically controlled by the PCM, the computer "brain" and can be changed by some handheld programmers or a custom "tune".

Tunercat sofware can remove that, along with about 500 other tuning changes that can be made. Mine is set to 255mph.

Jet makes a plug-in device for the transmission that will remove the speed limiter. PM One04Fx4 about this, I know he used to have one.

The Hypertech type programmers are around $400 and can be purchased from just about any hi-po shop. I am not sure what the Jet part costs.
