IMO, look to get a tune... If you're a knowledgeable DIY'er, EFILive & HPTuners have a few buddies of mine grinnin' ear-to-ear. If not, find another PCM like yours, get the tune loaded on it, and keep your stock PCM on your shelf.

I had the hypercrap, it's okay for the mild (very) performance gains you feel, but a custom tune will definitely yield better results. If you're gonna get a handheld, go look on eBay... cheaper!

Thanks
The Tunercat will download the stock Tune as an Icon then you can copy the stock Tune and make mods to it.
If you want to change which tune you have flashed in the PCM, you just click on whichever tune you want and flash that 1 to the PCM. You can theoretically have as many differing tunes as you want. Not just 2 like with Hypertech.

Tunercat OBD2 comes with all the cables you need, you just need a laptop or desktop PC.

Here are the vehicles supported bu Tunercat OBD2, the 2006 cars and trucks are also supported.
We have also added a few new Vehicle Definition Files. The following Vehicle Definition Files are now available:

OBD2_07 1996 - 1997 Vortec Trucks (4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L, 7.4L)
OBD2_06 1998 - 2000 Vortec Trucks (4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L, 7.4L)
OBD2_02 1999 - 2000 LS1 Trucks (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L)
OBD2_03 2001 - 2002 LS1 Trucks (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L)
OBD2_04 2003 - 2005 LS1 Trucks (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L)
OBD2_08 1996 - 1997 Camaro/Firebird/Corvette/Impala LT1
OBD2_09 1997 - 1998 Camaro/Firebird/Corvette LS1
OBD2_01 1999 - 2001 Camaro/Firebird/Corvette LS1
OBD2_05 2002 - 2003 Camaro/Firebird/Corvette LS1
OBD2_10 2004 - Corvette
OBD2_12 2004 - GTO
OBD2_13 2004 - 2005 Cadillac CTS-V

Here is a list of tables and such that can be adjusted via Tunercat, this list is for the 1996-97 Vortec trucks, the newer trucks and cars have more options.
