Default tips for better compression

with all the mods considered in my sig, including those ones being installed, wha t could i do to net some better compression ratios.... also what are the benefits of higher compression?

thinner head gaskets/shaved heads you need good heads along with a higher CR to make good use of the cam you trying to install

if you really wanted to do the effort put 4.8 pistons in your motor so you would have flat tops and basically a 5.3 HO, put you around 10.1 that would start you off with some decent gains on a cam

yea i know i need a good set of heads and that would help me out pretty good, only thing is a dont have 1500-2000$ laying around to have a decent pair....where can you pick up thin gaskets? would the 4.8 pistons do any damage? and since it is a smaller bore in the engine are the pistons smaller or would i just need a biger piston ring?

The bore dosnt change, its the stroke of the crank thats different between the 5.3 and the 4.8

look into the l92 heads for cheap swap. sdpc is starting to carry them now.

i have heard that the 4.8 l wrist pins are in different positions that the 5.3. Dont know how that would affect the clearances? Just a thought.
