I'm fixing to have to get a new chain, a nice double roller is what I'm thinking.

Are there any *affordable* belt drives out there for the ls1 yet? I'd sure consider this as an option if there is.

No affordable belt drives that I know of for the LS engines. Jesel makes one but, the front of the block needs to be machined for it to work and I'm not sure if regular accessories work with it.

Figures ... looks like I'll have to stick with a regular double roller chain.

Just get an LS2 timing chain. That should do it.

You may still have to clearance the front cover for a double roller.

I think the LS2 is a double chain that'll actually fit. Whatever you do, don't get a gear drive. Cloyes makes an affordable one too.
