Default Swap to a Cammed LQ9 OR ProCharge my 5.3??

Hey guys, need a few opinions (and reasons).

I currently have a 2001 5.3 LM7 with a '04 LS6 cam/springs/pushrods in my '86 2wd K5 Blazer. It runs like a tops with the stock truck intake and 8.1 Marine Injectors (just incase). It also have stainless long tube headers, a built 4L80e (I tow my camping trailer a few times a year), stock converter with about 1800-2000 RPM stall. Lastly I have a Kwik Performance AC bracket to retain HVAC in hot *** Bako.

I'll have a little bit of money to throw into the truck soon and have decided on one of two directions to go. I cannot afford to do 'both' since I'll only have enough for one option.

Option A: Buy a stock LQ9 from a buddy, throw a mild cam (like a TSP 224), and a Yank 3200-3600 stall converter and call it good.

Option B: Leave the 5.3 alone, buy a D-1SC ProCharger 'Tuner' kit minus the intercooler since I'll have to do a custom intercooler anyway since it'll be used on my K5 instead of a late model Silverado. I might be able to afford a LQ4 in a year or so which is why I'd want the D-1SC over the smaller P-1SC. (Can't do a MagnaCharger because of interfering with my AC brackets and I am keeping my AC)

Opinions? Please state your reasons for your opinions too so I can weigh my decision easier with Pros & Cons.

Thanks guys!

The Procharger would be fun. I would probably do the LQ9 first with a Procharger cam and procharge it later. Should be a blast.

Just get a procharger for the 5.3L along with a proper cam. Later on down the line you can always get a 6.0L and swap it in if you like.

You might have already considered this, but a PD blower will likely give you more low end torque, and the ls6 cam is a great match for them. But either way, I say boost the 5.3.

I wish I could run one, especially a TVS1900 or even a TVS2300, but I am 99% sure they won't work with my aftermarket A/C compressor bracket.

If you have the $, I would do super charger first.

6.0 are getting cheaper and cheaper, can always swap one in later.

Sc seems get more and more expensive

Anyone have a suggestion where to buy a D-1SC tuner kit minus the intercooler kit? PM if needed. Thunder Racing lists the D-1SC tuner kit (with intercooler kit) for about $4400 + shipping, I was told by someone that taking off the intercooler kit would shave about $500 off that too.

Thanks!!
