Going with a 24xº for torque? That's a first. Ever over-layed a 24xº intake duration camshaft with a low 230's and seen the difference in torque curves? It's a healthy difference! And no magical lobe exists that makes gobs more torque with 240º than some other 240º lobe. There are small differences in lobes, but not so much that all of a sudden a 240 cam has the bottom end of a 228 cam.

Now I'm not hating on the Pulluter, we've tested it on the engine dyno with comparable duration cams. It was in line with the rest. But I'd hate to see or hear of a truck guy buying the cam for torque alone. That's just not what these big cams are for!

x2

you need something a bit smaller on the duration to get a truck moving well... mine is around 232/236 and does GREAT.

well I was not meaning it as in thats where it would shine but that it looks to do real well with nitrous and with the shot im using I do not want to run a cam that won't work well.

That cam produces HUGE torque down low for a big cam, more in line with high 220's duration cams.

Edit: to be exact, already is producing around 375rwtq BY 4000 rpms, and around 330rwtq at 2500rpms. If anyone were looking for a big cam, that would be the one to get, AND, it doesn't need to be spun any higher than 6500 rpms, actually by 6000 its starting to level off, just a slight increase, pretty much flat.

well i ran a 13.02 at 102 today and 8.24 at 82 on the stock lq4 so with this cam and the juice i should have a nice and nasty ride.

That cam in your truck would be a mistake in a truck. Way too big IMO I would do something in the 230s

I've seen and tuned a f body with this cam. Sounds BADD. Pulls o.k but doesnt come "on" until up higher in rpm, Idle needs to be around 950-1050. IMO TOO big for a truck....

and Im starting to debate my 240 cam as well. I will have to see how the 221 does and then swap it.
