For rods, grab a nice set of H-Beams. There are some reasonably priced version out there now -- like the Callies Compstar stuff (that's what I'm doing in my 427).

Get ARP J19 head studs. You can then overtorque by 15 ft/lbs and your headgaskets will thank you. You also have a reduced risk of lifting the heads that way.

Definitely do the ARP main studs as well (and of course rod bolts).

Well got a call from the machine shop today - Block is not any good.

Going to get quotes on 402.

Would my stock 317 heads work good on a 402?
Or is it worth getting CNC heads on a turbo application?

from what ive seen, most heads are fine stock. Obviosly as soon as the valve opens your boost in is. Most seem to put bigger exhaust valves, maybe clean up that side. U better not finish your motor before I get a tranny back or im selling the truck lol.

Well whatever you decide, it should be quite a ride when it's done!

Tarinitup-400??!! Holy ****! I guess your gonna just skip the high 10's and just go straight for the low 10's?!

Charcold- I agree with jesse on this one. Ya need an 80E in that sucker.

On a 402
I am looking at WCCH 6.0 stage 2 heads or PRC Stage 3 6.0 heads.
Any thoughts on making a choice?

Go with WCCH. Richard is a great guy to deal with.
