Default need help keeping belts on

Ever since the new motor I've been throwing and/or shredding both belts off under heavy load. When the engine is idling you can see the tensioner moving so I'm confident that when a large movement of the motor comes from getting off the gas from WOT the tensioner is moving causing the belt to come off. Searching has not produced a heavy duty tensioner for my application but I hear they are out there. Need some help finding what I need to solve the problem.

Have you tried to put another "stock" idler and tensioner on ? I think that most people will tell you that when you start walkin belts you better check the alignment of your pullys...

Thank you for your service I dont take my freedom lightly

If you watch the crank pulley with the enjoy ideling, does it appear to be straight or wobble some? Pulley alignment is suspect, as well as the belt length or weak tensioner...

Awesome username, btw

Thanks for the kind words.
I've tried a new stock tensioner that seemed to work for a little while then started flexing again.
Have gone to a shorter belt.
Crank pulley is stable.
When I had a car LS2 water pump on it the alignment was off so went back to original pump to keep proper alignment. From my sniper approved eyes, the pulleys are in alignment
Idler pulley bracket was modified to accomodate lsx-r intake.
Questionably, the alternator has some rubber(belt) buildup on it near the pulley.
I know some supercharged applications need stronger tensioners and I think this is the only thing it needs.?.
p.s. A/C belt throws/shreds seemingly easier than main belt...so much that I don't even have it on right now since its cold.

How long has this been going on? I am going to take a shot in the dark on this one bc I think this cold has fucked everyones belts this year, BUT........... If you went to a smaller belt that automatically will shorten it making it tighter and cause more of a load on your pullys/idlers... Now with that in mind if you were to put a shortened belt on (making it a tight fit anyways) and you add the cold and wind chill and humidity factors in this I will be willing to bet that you have just put too much tension on your belts and that could very well be the reason why.

Now if you say that this has been going on since before this huge cold front came in from Canada then Im really not sure. The AC belt may be shredding and the hot rubber could be getting thrown in any of the exposed bearings causeing shredding or walking...

Save for your "sniper" eyes, you might invest in a laser alignment tool. Gates makes one. Find the lowest price on amazon dot com and then call jegs and have them match the price. Got mine for around $100, and it is an awesome tool.

In theory the only pulley that could come out of alignment is the power steering pump pulley, as it's pressed on. Measure that one first off the crank and then check everything else. Be sure to turn the each of the pulleys 90* and remeasure.

Put a straight edge across each pulley, and see how it looks. Just because the belt looks straight doesn't jean the pulley isn't cocked a little. If it throws the belt something is off for sure.
