i installed the same cam about a month ago. ive lost 5 tenths in the eighth, but i havent hooked up yet off the line. best 60 ft. before this cam was a 2.10 and now its a 2.24. havent changed stall yet, still running the tb stall, and my tuner says hes reading a knock, so my tune can get stronger. best time now's a 9.85 and before 9.46

I would expect to lose a little on your 60 without a bigger converter, but if your comp keeps pulling timing for a knock, it will really slow you down. Now your problem sounds more like a tuning issue, but this guy's running a 10.55 on nitrous! Big difference.

Man, I dont mean to be a *****, but Im telling you that the cam install is OFF!!! Talk to your guy and tell him that he can either relook at it for free or when you and a buddy do it and take a pic, he can refund your money.... This is why I do absolutely everything on my truck that isnt totally out of the realm of possibility to complete. Like I said ORIGINALLY. The cam install is off. Nothing else could make such a dramatic change as you described.

Take it to Allen get him to tune it and see what he can do if you dont gain any then the installation is screwed up.

Hopefully the problem isn't that the cam has a faulty grind. I put a micrometer on mine just to check. I doubt that's the problem.
The reason your converter is stalling so low is loss of power.
600 bucks to pull and reinstall a timing cover is rediculous. This guy sounds like a tool. Did he degree the cam when he installed it?
Good luck! I know you'll like that cam when everythings right.

I went with the mechanic today to tell him about the tuning problems and he assures me that the cam was installed right. He will refund my money if he opens up the engine and the cam is not right but I am responsible for his time when he shows me that it is right. He said he always turns the engine twice to make sure the chain doesn't slip and he took good care of my truck. He said to save my money and get a live tune to make it run good. just like I said before I will wait to get it tuned live by nelson and one of these days when I am off of work I will open it up and check myself. thanks for all the replies.

but at least you are getting it taken care of. you cant really blame the mechanic for believing in his work and if he knows he did it right then he did and you cant blame him either for charging for his time if it was actually done correctly. IMO exhaust all your other options until you have this guy double check it.
