Nice looking truck. Re: your transmission question, I would wait for the six speed to fail and then swap out for a 4l80e. Pretty uncomplicated and those trans will take a lot of abuse. The KB's are good blowers but a little prone to heat soak/high IATs. E85 would be a good move also if it's available in your area.

Thanks I like it too. I've heard that before as well with the tranny. They are apparently screwy because of the way it shifts makes programming a pita. That's why some builders stopped doing them because of tuning really. I also learned the aluminum rods are great but have a lower lifespan in high hp and allegedly don't like the rapid acceleration and deceleration of a road vehicle. I don't fully believe that last part is a big factor. I believe in general and over time they stretch no matter what you do. Maybe slightly more with a road car. Maybe. I will do steel cuz I don't need high rpm and the longevity is higher on my list than numbers. I also have added to the list of expensive things to do I need door speakers and a leather interior to replace the 80s baby **** brown GM thought looked good. All dark brown inside will be black with white stitches including steering wheel which is hard to do with the wood and all but I gotta figure that out. Dash will be suede with a single seam folded stitch and the carpet and lower plastics will be changed to black. Seats I'm unsure of I just know they are too heavy and will need to change. Headliner will be done too with names and all but not sure about details. With the bed off for repair (parking lot got hit in the *** by some bozo truck) I decided to leave it off and finish the box to hold my d3100 battery and the aluminum reservoir for the KB. A lid is getting built into my pickup bed that will lock and hinge allowing access. Also need to address my fuel issue. Anyone know how to build a fuel system in the DFW? Don't even have to drop the tank with the bed off!

It fell off!

Got 5k to spend on it soon wondering if 4k for a fuel system to support 1000hp on e85 is a decent price. Don't know Jack about all this I have no family or friends who know near what I do. And that's not saying a whole lot.

thats a lot to spend on a fuel system. I would think 2500 would be about the ball park, but injectors that big are gonna be like 2k new. So maybe its not unheard of at 4k, just not cheap at all

I suppose it depends on the injector I guess. 500 for Bosch or 1300 for ID. Supposedly the Bosch will do it no one has had any issue that I know of so why not .

My bed is off so its really tempting to try it myself since I don't need to drop the fuel tank. Not sure if I can find an in tank setup to fulfill my goals.

I know that's why I'm worried but I work in manufacturing and price is determined by demand and technology. If you can offer the same performance at half price you'll get some attention. Everyone has had good things to say about these.

139*8 is $1100, plus any applicable shipping and taxes. Still a good deal, and a deal I was unaware existed, but not quite the $500 you thought they were
