yeah , IMO it took me some time to get the info right but as for our denali s since they awd I read that we have our tranny built being the 3rd gear and rev drum and something else was the weakest link in the 6l80 , as far as out transfer case if I’m correct we need to buy nvg 149 t-case and have a gear adapter modified to fit it .. build our rear end aswell

Yeah DOD delete was done at the same time as mods. At what hp level does the transfer and rear go? I'm close to around 6 and even the stock trans is still holding. I will say I don't go to the track and it was filled with top notch oil. There are some decent upgrades nowadays for the 6l80 hopefully it'll be enough.

Leave the 6l80 stock and get a great tuner. Rear will go at around 600 rwhp at least mine did, put in a Detroit Truetrac and it will be good to go...

Tuning by Sam at Advanced Modern Performance. So far so good. Not the fastest thing on wheels but around 5.0 performance in a AWD loaded truck on 22s that's pretty good for a start. Need lighter wheels among the trans and engine work which ought to help the rear and transfer case a bit. I was thinking TKM here in Texas for the engine build. Also remember the drive shaft being a weak point was that still a thing by 13'?

Back when she was carrying her own weight around. Needed help at my business. I've since removed the helper bags and hitch in favor of mods.

Oh boy, not sure where I got the Texas from but they are a bit far in NC Dentonville I think. They do some nice work with lots of different options. Ive thought of Texas Speed as another possibility but I got better fuzzies about TKM. I might use some of their parts at least well see how it goes. Any thoughts on aluminum vs steel rods?

Aluminum rods are a no go for anything heavy or making torque, IMO

A theory I heard was they absorbed the harmonics alot better vs hard steel. They also needed just as much if not more weight to equal the strength.

Haven't really thought of this question in many years. I recall they were great for very high revving small blocks back in the day. I don't see them as mainstream at all and are probably not recommended for a street ride. I would just go with Compstar rods probably. Good price and durability and they seem to be a favorite.
