LS6 springs
#1
O.k. I ordered a new set of ls6 springs for my head cam swap and I was expecting them to be yellow, but I opened the box and found solid blue colored springs. Are these just an updated version? Do they have the same specs as the yellow springs???

Hmmm, used to be that the original LS6 springs, which were rated lower than the yellow ones, were blue (such as the LS6 springs that come with the GM Hot Cam)...is it possible that you ordered the early style springs (pretty sure that they're still available). Or did the supplier of the springs change, or just change their color?
Both sets of LS6 springs that I've bought were yellow and came with "Made in Germany" tags on them...but that was a while ago...
*EDIT* Something funny...I googled "LS6 Valve Springs" to see if I could find any info, and found an old thread that I started about them on SilvySS.com...back in 06

OK, that is the info that I'm familiar with, the blues are good to .529 (I knew that it was less than .530), and the yellows are good to anywhere from .550 to .580, depending on who you talk to. They have to be good to over .550 as the 02-04 LS6 cam had .551 lift...

They are blue now, unless you find a set of yellows collecting dust at a parts supplier that just hasn't sold the yellows in a few months. I haven't had a chance to put them on the bench and check pressures extensively yet to compare to the yellows. I hope to get a chance to in the next few weeks.

Just curious, do they still come with the little blue "Made in Germany" tags on them? Curious if GM went to a different supplier or if the original supplier found out that blue paint was cheaper than yellow
