Default LS6 Heads on a 6.0?

I have a 02 gmc with a 6.0 all stock engine. I'm wondering what i could gain changing over to say LS6 heads to raise the compression. Anyone done this? Is it worth it?

You'll gain about a full point in compression. What do you have a LQ4 or LQ9?
A LQ4 would be about 10.5:1 and LQ9 would be 11:1.

Unless you have access to tune the timing correctly you will have to run premium on a LQ9 and even then you may run into detonation problems.

My old setup was done all at once so I can't say how much it helped, plus I had ported heads too.

Dave,
I have an 02 GMC and I'm thinking of dropping an LQ9 in it.
What mods did you have to make?
Thanks,
Jerry
