Default LS2 cam gear work on LQ9?

I have a new cam gear that I believe is an LS2 gear, the part number is 12576407. Will this work on my LQ9 that I will be building or is it keyed differently or something? I have an LS2 timing chain to use with it...Thanks

Well, I found some pics on LS1Tech and the gear isn't keyed any differently, so it should work, it's just a different design gear as it's solid where I believe that mine had holes in it when I last looked at it. So it should work, may be a little heavier though

Billy, from looking at an LS-style gear (it was an aftermarket set) compared to my stock LQ9 gear set when I put the 427 together, I think they are interchangeable too.

If it means anything to you, my '05 LQ4 came with a LS2 timing set from the factory. GM even used them in the truck motors

Maybe I'm not reading this right but did you say that you swapped an aftermarket chain and used your stock set? If so, I hope not. Timing chains/sprockets are matched. It'd be like using a Yukon branded Ring gear in your rear end and a joe schmoe pinion gear. It may "fit" together but the tolerances aren't exact.
