Same crank, even the same casting number. Balanceing is specific to each application though. LS1 version Is gun drilled right down the center of the mains and thats the difference. I have seen people throw truck cranks away thinking there useless and that an Ls1 crank is some how better. Personally I would rather have the truck crank. It is less like to bend esspecially after reworking it....

Yep, casting # 12552216 for narrow flange cranks in 5.3L, 5,7L & LQ4/9 6.0L’s.

Whats up guys. So how much difference is there between the stroke and bore of a 5.3 an ls1 ?

Stroke is the same, 5.3 bore is 3.78, ls1 bore is 3.898

Okay i thougth the stroke was the same. What about compression ? ls1 is a lil higher right ?

Run of the mill iron LM7 5.3L is 9.5:1 and LS1 is 10.25:1

High compression 5.3 here!! 4.8 pistons in a 5.3 all day, a whopping 400.00 investment as a whole and running strong. My compression is 10.3:1 with MLS and 706s
