Default LQ4 with 317 heads, cam opinions.

Ok since theres alot of cam questions on here i will ask for opinions! Got a 2002 LQ4 with 317 heads, whats some good cams that would work with this setup?? Or i have a set of hold on let me start over--- I got a 2000 chevy shortbed reg cab with a 5.3l thats getting a 6.0 swap--- ok with that said i also have the 5.3 heads wich are 862's. I am doing just a n/a setup so if i could get some advice on which heads to use and which cams. thanks for the help.

my opinion 862 are junk keep the 317s but it would be better to get some 799/243s to keep the good flow and bump ur compression.. cam options all depends on what converter u want if any.. if u get atleast a 3200 u can slap something in the high 22* duration.. look for set up out there ull c some good ones..

the 862 are ok if you put bigger valves , but if you leave them stock theyb will choke that 6 liter , believe me i went that route the first time around ..

Yeah i was thinkin that about the stall, I just want to keep it street frendly. i was thinkin a 3000 stall with texas speed 224 cam with the 317 head.

You're going to want to mill the heads as much as possible to get your DCR up with that cam in an LQ4 IMO...you'd probably be better off with some 243's...

I'm sure that it would still make good power above 3k with the 317's, but more compression would be optimal...
