tsp has a 370 short block for 3k. swhanke engines has a 388 iron block for 3k also. I have 1600 in my 370 short block. it has mahle pistons and h beam rods

Well I have the means to get it built myself so I just need to find a block. I would most likely just run the stock bottom end since so many have proven it to last. I would put money into a good set of heads.

i dont have any with this motor. only thing ive raced was a gt500 that i beet. dozerdan was with me

ya the more and more i look at those pics of the block im not so sure i would use it either...

try looking on LS1tech for some blocks or even a shortblock for a decent price...

as far as heads and cam, like i said before a custom ground cam would be the best way to go along with some good flowing heads...

my block is the same as yours, machine shop told me it would be fine since the piston doesnt go down that far, but i still dont trust it, its a 50/50 chance, and i dont like those odds, lol

Okay so I haven't messed with the engine swap in a couple of months because I'm in the process of buying a house, But a guy is selling a 6.0 that was in a auto fire, He wants 100 bucks for the whole thing. Would this block be okay to use? I wouldn't use anything else but the block just don't know if it would be warped or anything from the fire?

I think your best bet is a 6.0 bored/stroked to a 408.
