Default My Thompsons Motorsports experience

I just wanted to take a little time and tell you my experience with Thompson's Motorsports. I started calling different motor shops that I have seen recommend on the forums. Location didn't matter in my decision as I'm in California and ended up going with Thompson's Motorsports because of my own interactions with them and other customer Testimonials. I called Dustin about a LQ9, 370 build. I called at least a few times a week when I was in the beginning stages of trying to decide what I wanted to have built for my truck. I hoped I hadn't worn out my welcome before I had even decided what I wanted to go with. This is my first time doing something like this so naturally I had/have a ton of questions. Dustin was and is still always very helpful. He probably emailed me a half dozen different estimates with different engine combinations. I ended up going with there forged Diamond piston 370ci short block since it will be my DD. I had a cam specked out by Patrick G and ground by Cam Motion. I had cam motion send it to Dustin to be installed so they could set it up and degree it correctly. I also went with a set TFS GenX255 heads from TEA and when they are finished (later this week) those will be sent to Dustin as well, so I would basically be receiving a long block from Thompson's. I had them build the long block, one because I just don't have the time to do it, plus I know it will be done the right way. Everyone there, Kyle, Dustin and maybe one or two others who I didn't get there name have been great to work with. There customer service is top notch and I'm confident that I made the right decision to have them build my motor. Dustin even sent a couple pictures of the build in progress. I did a lot research before choosing a shop to do the build. If you are contemplating where to go I would highly recommend giving Thompson's Motorsports a call and seeing what they can do for you.

I love hearing good reviews like this.

Great work, Thompson! Let's hope this engine meets all your expectations! Certainly sounds like you have some great parts going into it!

My brother is rocking his diamond piston 370 for close to 3 years now. It has never skipped a beat! I have bought some of their CNC heads from them as well. They are always eager to help out a customer and do a great job of it too

Love reading posts like that. It always makes you feel better about a decision you made after seeing even more re-assuring stuff like that.
