where do you have the battery ground going to? . . . It's supposed to goto the side of the alternator bracket, but you can mount it a little lower.

Are the lights dimming when you hit the starter?

there's a metal shield that goes over the starter. . . . I left mine off this time. It kept arching off the block . . . my lights would dim, it would crank like an old dieing battery.

Check your starter relay again. Check the starter wires themselves on the starter. Be sure that the little wire that actuates the solenoid is planted firmly on there. It's the one in the center of the pic

i have triple checked the starter. ima give it one more chance today. what im going to do is try to connect all the grounds to the actual engine block as opposed to the heads. i guess ima have to use the bell housing bolts. really didnt want to go through all the trouble but i guess ima have to

Since his block and heads are aluminum can you still ground the wires to them? I did not think aluminum can conduct current?

check your park/neutral switch. pull it to neutral and see if it will start.

what about if you try "hot wiring" it your self? . . . . tap a hot wire onto the small wire on the starter. (wear gloves if your sweaty)

or put a meter on the small wire and see if it's getting signal

I took the truck out and drove it for about an hour. truck ran fine. turned it off, waited 10 min. tried to start it then nothin. wouldnt start again. now my question is would the truck run perfectly if one of the grounds was fucked up? could somethin else be the problem? by the way, i killed a lightning earlier
