Default Engine swap to 6.0

I want to do an engine swap from my 4.8 to 6.0 on my 2002 1/2 ton 4wd. what years would be the best for the swap. next my daily rpm in the truck is idle to 3500 rpm. I live in western Pa. and I need all the low end torque for the hills that are everywhere here. Any leads on a good source to get the motor. Thanks

Look for a LQ9, they have little more power from the get go over the LQ4 but are likely going to be more money.

I THINK, you should double check my logic, that '99-'00 LQ4 have a longer snout on the crankshaft that wont mate up to a 4l60e perfectly (i think they were mated with a 4l80e). '01 and later LQ4 will be plug and play with 4l60e. lq4 '04+ had beefier connecting rods. I believe these beefier connecting rods came in all the lq9's (not sure about this). so if you are keeping the bottom end stock I would look for an 04+ LQ4 or any LQ9

99-00 6.0s had cast iron heads and the crank wil not mate to a 4l60... Try to find an 04and up lq4 or lq9, try to find one out of a cadillac or a denali.... Usually lower mileage and typically better maintained....
