Convertor lockup was controlled by the speedo on some early 700r4 vehicles, so I could see that MAYBE being possible if something wasn't quite right.

Yeah, should have had a cable driven speedo with a wire with a big yellow connector on the end.

I used to shut off my M715 with a 350, and 700R4 and restart it in N and shift back to D while rolling. Previous owner put a full wiring harness from an 89 truck into it. The gauges were all transfered into it too, check engine light would come on a lot, and it wasn't on the dimmer. Restarting the truck would always get the light to shut off, sometimes I didn't feel like stopping to restart the truck.

Yeah, but that is just starting it with the starter there. No special news bulletin really.

Got ya. Somehow missed the part about dropping into D causing it to start. I was wondering why people were arguing about that one.
