Did I kill my motor???

That makes zero since. That trick only works with a manual transmission were the drive is directly engaged when in gear. That is why a manual transmission vehicle will stay put without setting the parking brake when the engine is off.
If that worked, then you would be pushing against the engine if you moved the truck with the engine off. I have pushed my vehicles all over and only take them from park to reverse. There would have to be something wrong with your transmission for that to work.
My understanding of an automatic transmission, if there is no fluid being pumped through the transmission, then there is nothing to engage the input and make it drive the engine. The only way to pump the fluid through the transmission is to spin the torque converter, with the engine.
Take your truck out, get up to say 30-35MPH, down shift and let the engine slow the truck, then shut the truck off. The truck is going to free wheel at that point. I have done that MANY MANY MANY MANY times showing off when I was younger.
Better yet, put you transmission in D on a hill, with the engine off, no brakes, and watch what happens!!!

heres the verdict. i went outside with two buddies, the truck was already on jack stands with the wheels on. i had them turn the back wheels forward with the truck in drive.... the motor did not move

Update:: i talked to Chris over at Circle D. he told me that even though it was in drive, the pump has to be on to turn the motor. so he said i was fine.
