Default New dyno 5.7 iron

Hey guys. I want to see what your opinion to match. Since I went to that place Vegeance racing retune for set new gear.

Somehow they give me a free dyno to see what mine making since I got new motor on

347 iron tms 10.4 cr with 317 casting (.660 brain tooley springs dual)
Cam 226/232 115 Lsa
258mm 2b 3-3200 rpm stall triple disk. CIRCLE D CONVERTER that built for turbo. ( I'm run all motor for now)
Stock 4l80e with hd2 shift kit
Eaton trutra locker and Yukon 4.11
Dyno number not very impressed to me. It's show 318 hp at wheel. Why so low? The motor suppose make about 400 for just motor. Before I put in turbo in future. The dyno guy say my converter is to tight? I don't understand about tight thing. Mean they would more power when turbo is in? Unlock torque only 20 hp difference. Let me know thanks.

Drivetrain loss can be up around 20% in some cases. The 4L80e and the converter can make it worse, so losing 80hp through the trans/converter/rear end isnt out of the ballpark.

I don't know enough about torque converters yet to give better advise but your drivetrain seems better suited for more power but you havent added that yet.

If you're locking it on the dyno (only way to get an accurate read) then the converter being tight or loose would become a non-issue... The diameter and weight still may be causing some loss but I don't think it would be much. Id say it's either ambient temp or tuning causing the loss.

Seems low to me, a 4l80 doesn't rob nearly the power people think. In 3rd gear a 60e and 80e will produce very close numbers. Granted if you aren't making a lot of lowend tq the 80e 1st gear seems tall.

How hot out was it?

80 costs 15 rwhp over 60.

318 isn't terribly low for what it is but I would have expected closer to 350.

Doesn't sound far off, figure 20% drivetrain loss and the 400+ they quoted you was most likely without an accessory drive... puts it fairly close.

I would like an explanation as to why my post in this thread was deleted.

With an 80E its more like 22-25% loss.

And just so everyone knows, that 15 hp number came from a dyno before and following 60 to 80 swap on LS1tech. I'm aware there will be some variance, but I think it's a good reference.
