did i get ripped?
#1
i just installed my new cam, so i wanted to sell my old one, which i thought was a 2002 Ls6 cam. i bought it used from a friend that works at a stelership, so i trusted that he knew what he was selling me, we have also been friends since we were both 5 so again i trusted him. i bought it and installed it without checking it that same day. i have tried measuring lift to make that it is a ls6 cam cuz i don't want to rip someone else off. i've tried to measure it but only get .480 lift, i don't know if i'm measuring wrong. what other way can i tell if it truly tell if it is an ls6 cam.

Ya, how are you trying to measure the lift? Lift is measured at the valve AFTER it is increased by the rocker arm ratio since they increase the actual cam lift by 1.7 to 1. So the cam its self will be less then the advertised lift of it.

If im looking at it right, the top 4 numbers are the last 4 of the part # it self. Looks like you have the 2001 LS6 cam. The specs are 207/217@.050 525/525 on a 116 center line. Still better than a stock one. 2002 is 204/218 550/550 on a 118.5 center line. All according to the GMPP book.
