Default body ground strap

Putting the fresh rebuild back in my 00 z71 and there is a ground strap from the firewall on the left driver side.

Where does it bolt to the engine at? Trans bellhousing to engine bolt?

I can't remember where it went.

Thanks

Bolt it anywhere you can, location on engine does not matter.

One of the engine to trans bolts should be a stud for this purpose. Just make sure you go directly to the block. It's not a bad idea to install extra grounds while you're at it. Body to frame, body to engine block, engine block to frame. Good grounds are extremely important in these trucks.

Agreed on both, but it should go to the back of the bell/engine..

I'd upgrade them, and do the Big 3 with at least 1/0 wire. Even if you're not into stereo equipment, I'd still do it.

All of my charging/grounding cable is 2/0

We were wiring up an Air Handling Unit at the Health and Human Services last week and it needed a 110Amp 208V circuit. The electrician asked me what size ground and I said #6. One of the other helpers has a stereo system in his car and he started laughing. I said, yeh I know, we put a 1/0 ground in our vehicles but entrust buildings with half the size of the ground wire. A freaking 2/0 is just MONSTER dmelvin! You are just showing off now! (yeh yeh ac vs dc, just still funny)

Anybody know what the strap is that goes from the firewall to the hood? My truck doesn't have a under hood light (04) so I am not sure what it is for. Anyways it ripped off when i was putting the hood in the service position
