i guess this is for Bobby, he should rethink it, lots of trucks run good with 220 cams but of course he could always prove wrong if he tries it, its a risk, i wouldent go that big

yea most wouldnt go that big but it isnt a daily driver so he doesnt have to worry about alot of the problems people like is woudl see with a 23x/23x cam i say if the money is there and he wants it do it and just tell us what happens, it shoudl make plenty of power no doubt

im guessing your used to cam specs for a ls1 from the sig...trucks weigh more so smaller cams work better. a cam that big is major overkill for a n/a 5.3.

most dont go near that big because it loses its driveability but if he will get the torque or stall and gears to launch it then he should be fine...

I talked to (Chuck) from HPE today and he adviced to go with the C-Cam 236/238 601 605 112 lsa. They said they had done serveral Cam swaps and the had gotton good results from the cam a 40 to 50 hp increase, of course with a good tune. So we are leaning toward that one. I'll keep you all updated on the results on what we decide.

IMO the guys at HPE need to stick to cars. That cam they recommended is WAY too big for that truck. Im barely running a cam bigger than that and I have almost 100 more cubic inches. Flyer is the record holder for biggest cam in a 5.3 and it was a 233/239 112 I think and he had ALOT of tuning to do on it to get it driveable. I dont see that cam working out well but more power to you if you think it can handle it. Remember you are working with ALOT more weight and less cubes

I figured he wanted to be able to drive it on the street. It will have no nutts when the tc is locked in OD going down the highway he will have no tq at 2Krpms where you need it to have a street friendly cam. If its all out drag then go for it. You cant just think about WOT situations.
