Default Anybody running a similar Cam?

236/238 601 605 112 lsa Or 234/236 592 596 112 lsa. We are planning on putting one on a 05 GMC 5.3. The truck has stock heads and bottom end, LT's, Yank 3500, asp pulley, k&n, 4.10 gears, other minor bolt-on's. Will that be a over kill? We are planning to put heads on in a couple of months so that why we want something that big. The truck is not a daily driver only a weekend warrior, so we don't mind rough idle or the driveability. Any feed back we be highly appreciated.

you better up your SCR to help with the DCR to get that thing to run properly. i got a cam similar to that going in my 6litre. 232/234 595/598 112 and my DCR is 8.12 and SCR is 11.1. had someone figure it. the lower the DCR the less power you will have under the curve and overall. this is where the overcammed theory comes into play. honestly you dont have enough compression to get tha cam to work properly, it will run but no where near its potental

Too much cam for an N/A 5.3 IMO. It's about as big as you want to go for a 6.0L truck -- and very close to what I run in my 408.

i think it is a little overkill especially form how high it will have to spin and if you are runnign with a truck intake manifold but if you plan on upgrading all the internals from rod bolts to manifold and heads etc then it would be pretty neat to see how it performed but i think its a little big for the application...bore it out to a 5.7 and finish it off with quite a few other toys and it would be awesome

also you might need more of a 4000 stall i dont know if a 3500 would cut it for that much duration

The Wood Hauler is putting a 233/239 .600/.605 lift on 113 LSA, in his 408, I would definetly go smaller in an otherwise stock 5.3. something in the mid - low 220 range in duration @ .050".

220/220 and 224/224 seem popular
