6.0L With 02 LS6 Cam Question
Hello,
I have just completed a swap using a 1989 Chevy 3500K and installed an 2001 6.0L 4L80 N.P. TCase I have 3.73 gears F/R. with 35 12.50 16.5's Headers into true 2.5" dual with cats 3" after Mufflers out 4" tips
My question is what is the stock cam specs on this 6.0L?
Has anyone put just the LS6 cam in there 6.0L? If so What Kinda performance gain did you see?
I see that the stock cam falls off after 5000ish

6.0l. heads and cam
from the book. how to built a performance gen 3 engine. the heads and cam off an ls6 vette (02 on) onto a lq4 or lq9 should yield an extra 50 to 55 horsies. also you'll need the 7.425 pushrods

I have an lq9, not the lq4, but can anyone recommend a better cam than the ls6? I can get one cheap, but would rather spend a little more if i will get better power out of it. Also, how big of a cam can i go with the stock valvesprings....and if i upgrade the springs?
Didn't mean to hijack the thread, but figured this info might help us both.

Well, the engine is stock at this point. Planning on a cam, maybe an intake ,headers and duals. What cam would you recommend, and i'd get springs to match. From what i've heard, is it really worth swapping intakes on these motors? I've heard that the intake really only hold the motor back above 5500, and i really don't plan on running it that high very often.
