I feel for ya Cody. I'm having hell staying motivated working on my dads truck too (the 72). I'm in the finish welding, grinding, cleanup, rattle caning of the front end and suspension before I can put everything together and put in the 5.3 motor, and just don't want to do it. Then I got to figure out all the wiring for the motor and trans.

Well, I would have enjoyed listening to you squall under the truck getting burned while I was drinking a cold one and watching like old times.

I tell you what, you pre-plan like my wife makes money. You need to seriously get a hold of 1slowhoe and get some of that Gay Texan Remover he has. You are just all ate up with that curse.

LMAO! I know I've had days just like that under the Tahoe.

You really need to pull the header to clean it? Cant you just let that crap burn off on the first start-up?

Its not going to burn off it will just turn black and look like ****. At the moment I think Im going to put hte stock manifolds back on, and get the bung fixed on my jegs ypipe, buy a welder and at a later date build my own true dual exhaust. Im tired of relying on someone to do my welding. I hate not being able to doeverything myself not to mention having to pay to get something done. If I can learn how to weld decently and tune I wont need anyone to do anything on my truck anymore except someone to do internal trans work. Which one day I may do that. Im just really aggrivated right now.

Some days are not fun at all. I just threw a sweatshirt away that was 100% soaked in ATF from my adventures with a burr on a front oil pump and bench pressing a full converter under the truck, all day. It's worth it when the truck runs good, hopefully you shouldn't be much farther away.

You can pick up a brand name mig welder and use it forever, they are a great investment.

Holy **** Cody! I feel bad for you. I thought I had bad luck.
I hope my trans swap works out better than everything on your truck has. I plan on getting it in real soon! Working on setting up a date with my buddy that has the lift. Looking forward to finally getting it in.
