6.0 LS2 with L92 heads and L76 intake for $4895.00. I wonder what the compression is on that engine though. I'm imagining most likely around 10:1. They make rotating assemblies for LS2's of course so you could go forged with everything already there including your fuel rails, flexplace, even the plugs. Thats not a bad idea, but then of course theres the trans, rr, brakes, fuel system... Not a bad idea though.

The same if not more then a stock motor, as long as you maintain it proper, don't blow the rods out of the block form over boosting, or spraying it to death..

Seriously...u shud just build ur 5.3...the stock internals on that motor have been pushed up north of 600rwhp. There really isn't any reason not to go with the stock stuff (pistons, rods, crank, rockers...etc) unless ur stroking, or boring. U can get 400+rwhp and not have to spend another $4500 on a tranny and rr end - at least not right away. Jees...I wish someone had told me all this stuff!

This is the basic idea. If you're going to start with a 6.0L block then it's not really a matter of 370 vs 383 (ls1 with a 4" crank), then it's more of the question to stroke the 6.0L instead.
So in all reality the title of this thread should be 370 vs 408. In which case I'd rather keep the 370 and spend more money on the forced induction system.

Thread content: I've been informed (after the fact) that my long stroke 383 is not the ideal FI setup. I agree with those that recommend using your 5.3L...bore it to LS1 specs (3.898 bore), get your assy rebalanced and away you go with a 5.7L.
