I wouldnt have a problem with that if i wasnt doing it over the weekend, i would have to go home friday, send out the ecm, and stay until monday if it would even come monday. and I talked to my tuner that did the custom tune on my diablo and he said he wont do any cam tunes.. i have no idea why. I am assuming that all tuning files are the same right? why couldnt i get a tune make from, say, blackbear. load it onto my intune and set it up in my pickup?

Id find another tuner that could get you a tune for you diablo... Not sure if blackbear does the diablo tunes... But i know they do email tunes and i know frost could get it back tobyou in a day or two.... Not sure how much control you have with your diablo, but i almsot bought one for fact it was advrtised the intune was supposed to be able to tune for cams, at least a base tune anyway....

With the DoD disabled it should start up and run, if you have VVT you can set the camshaft to "none" in the tune aswell, then delete any related DTC's that may come up. Of course that's only to get it running, I wouldn't drive it home that far without doing an actual in car tune.
Having a email tune done won't really work either because sure you could get it run and drive but there is no way to know exactly how it's going to act and run. The idle tables and VE/MAF will all have to be redone with driving and logging data with a wideband.

Email tune may not be the be all end all tune but a good tuner will get you close enough to drive it and make sure everything is right, would i suggest driving it in any other manner than like grandma on a sunday drive with someone following...no!! But i had a mail order tune done and was able to drive it from where i live to my tuner which was about a 2 hour drive with no problem.... May not be best situation but a 150-250 mail order tune sure as hell beats 14-15 hours minimum of labor to have it done at a shop....

so what is the difference between me getting an emailed tune compared to me sending my ecm out? Am i pretty much stuck with having to go to a dyno tuner either way before i can run it hard?

Unless youre going through process of emailing logs back and forth to get everything dialed in correctly, most likely yes... Email/mail order tunes are usually safe adjustments to get it up and running, as far as bolt ons and stuff theyre fairly safe, but with any internal mod or addition of FI i wouldnt want to beat the hell out of it without being properly tuned in person!!

I guess thats not a problem, just sucks the closest in-person tuner is 5 hours away lol. As far as logs go, what do i need to be able to do a data log? i know i can do logs with my diabo sport but will they be the same files?
