yep, either the slit was cut too long or the the slip end wasnt expanded far enough down the pipe not allowing it to go on the header all the way. They are texas speed brand headers and y pipe. Very good build quality its just this little piece didnt get hit right i guess. you can just barely see the hole but it is there air is coming out of it. Not worried about it, its just a little annoying so i will seal it

so i picked up a pair of 243 heads.. dropped them off at the machine shop today to have them shaved, get p&p'd and do some valve work. so one of these weekends i will be tearing the engine apart AGAIN lol. Having him put some better springs on it too. Just in case i want to go with a higher lift down the road.

I gotta figure out which length of pushrod i need now, not sure how much he's taking off but i will ask once i pick them up. whenever that will be

Kinda working backwards now. Whatever tune you get now will be off even more once you have better flowing heads.

Got them for free so I couldn't pass it up. Meh I dont think I'm working backwards. Never had plans to do it in the beginning, but when an opportunity presents itself, why not? And I can data log it for Justin to change whenever I actually get around to doing it. Which probably won't be for a while.

Who knows I will probably end up selling them or keeping them for my other project.

May not even be worth swapping them.... Saw somewhere port and polished heads made like a 2hp difference..... Was a test where they dynod the engine, took heads off, ported polished and milled and did a valve job and basically didnt gain enough on a street vehicle to make it worthwhile... Not to say there wasnt a flow difference but the 1 or 2 hp increase wasnt necessarily worth the expense unless youre trying to shave tenths off your et....

Take it for what its worth, it was an article in one of the performance magazines a while back.... Will they flow better, sure, is it something you should do if you have the engine apart to build it anyway, and are having head work done to freshen everything up.... wouldnt hurt! But to swap heads on a dd truck, probably not necessarily worth the aggravation and expense...

You know when I was first looking everything up I think I read that somewhere, and that's why I decided not to do anything with the heads currently on it. Definitely will save the hassle.

I just want to get more power, although, I know my next step will have to be boost.

A little video of a 20 roll, I think i need a little more revision to my tune, seems like my 2-3 shift cuts out. And i cannot get traction.. What can you guys recommend for a good all terrain tire? my nitto trail grapplers are wore down to **** and i would like to hammer down without breaking loose.
