It's a 5 wire connector, correct? I will look in the morning.

I'm going to be ordering everything on monday and I may as well order new cam bushings as well. Just for peace of mind. Thanks for bringing that up!

If youve never installed cam bearings before, i would seriously suggest finding a machine shop to install them..... If you screw it up you will be buying a new cam and block!!! Its not impossible to do but first time could be a pain in the butt!!! The connector at the base of the timing cover will have 5 wires and i have seen them with 5 wire on the harness side with and without vvt so you really need to look behind the water pump, ots a small black 2 wire connector on the actuator magnet, i will see if i can find a pic

Ok so I do not have VVT. So all I will need is a new 3 bolt cam sprocket right? An ls7 one should work, no?

i am in the process of doing this right now with my 09 lmg.

I would highly suggest calling texas speed and putting a complete order together. They have sold thousands of kits and combos. Pay shipping once and get it done.

All of my bearings were perfect including cam but i swapped them out since I had the motor on the stand. I never did cam bearings but I did my own. It wasnt to bad, more nervous than the actual install. check my build thread

Only thing i would say to save yourself a little bit of money is go to the dealer and get the valley cover for a truck which will run about $40 vs the $130 ls3 cover....

I am definitely going to go with Texas speed. Just priced everything out and am at ~1800 bucks including long tube headers and ORY pipe. Parts should be here early next week!
