Ya, I clearly stated in my email that I was doing an AFM delete... I'm really hoping it didn't do damage. I know when I started it the oil pressure was up so I thought something was blocking the sending unit screen. But when I went to slow down to turn back around to get to my farm I noticed it turned to v4 mode in my DIC. Didnt sound any different but my oil pressure dropped to 30 psi once it turned to v4 mode.....

There shouldnt be any screen forbthe sending unit anymore.... That goes away with the vlom being removed...

ahhh... that could be the problem here.. Hopefully my revised tune comes this week and AFM is shut off.

But i shouldnt notice it on acceleration. The best way to describe it is it kind of seems like jake brakes are on in a semi lol but it will still pick up rpm and once it gets to 2800-3000 rpm it will start to sound alot better.

Default Wiring harness

Quick question guys, I'm building a 05' 5.3 to put in my 00' Silverado.. It currently has a 4.8 in it, will the wiring harness off the 4.8 work if the 5.3 is a 05' model??

Yes, biggest difference would be the tb on the 05 but if youre using your stock intake and tb youll be fine.... 00 and 05 are sane basic engine so long as you dont have one of the few gen iv blocks that they released that early...usually iirc in trailblazers and some vettes...i built an 04 6.0 to swap into my 99

so he assured me that AFM was shut off.. If it was i wouldnt think the DIC would change between v8 and v4 would it? When i had my last tuner in my pickup to shut off AFM it never changed out of v8 mode.

I would email him back but i dont want to push my log file and tcm tune back to the end of the line...

It shouldnt just have him double check it because its still switching, that or try to flash it again and see what happens

i put in my recent email with my data log that AFM was still switching. And I did try to flash it a few times. First time i thought i did something wrong because i hardly pressed the button and it was pretty much done. still had me remove the key and wait 15 seconds though. hopefully i will get my revised tune by friday and hopefully its turned off lol
